Designed specifically for today’s quick response defibrillators, the Q Series meets the reliability demands of Class III medical devices.

Cornell Dubilier's Type Q Series has been designed for use in professional-grade and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The series offers designers the highest in-class energy density and broadest range of packaging options, enabling monophasic and bi-phasic defibrillators to achieve energy densities as high as 2 J/cc.

Some of the series can deliver in excess of 500 joules when fully charged, with voltage ratings ranging from 800 Vdc to 6,000 Vdc and capacitance values covering from 32 to 500 μF.

Standard packages include oil-filled metal cases or epoxy-filled plastic cases, both available in either round or oval configurations. A multitude of terminations is available, giving medical equipment builders a choice from quick-connect blades to insulated wire leads. Our team can also help you to work with Cornell Dubilier's own specialist team to integrate capacitor windings into a custom moulded package - achieving the smallest possible profile and highest energy density for your end-device.
