Capacitors for Large Inverter Systems
Liberty, SC (May 2013) — Cornell Dubilier announces availability of its Type 948D high energy density DC link capacitors for larger inverter systems. Type 948D is an excellent choice for DC link applications where high bus voltage, high capacitance and high ripple current are required for smoothing and filtering.
Housed in a plastic rectangular package that is nearly a cube with 6.5 inch sides, Type 948D DC link capacitors offer up to 20% more capacitance in the same size case with lower ESR and higher ripple current ratings than competitive types. Since a fused, segmented metallization pattern is used, Type 948D capacitors offer greater open circuit protection and superior control of capacitance loss than competitive types. The pattern is deposited on a low-loss, high-grade polypropylene dielectric. Built-in fuse links limit capacitance loss to a small segment within the capacitor in lieu of the larger areas of uncontrolled capacitance loss observed with non-segmented types.

Available in 990 to 2700 µF and rms current ratings up to 160A, the Type 948D DC link are offered in voltage ratings ranging from 800 to 1300 Vdc. The heavy duty M10 threaded studs are used to connect the high current terminals to the inverter's bus

New High Reliability TCXOs from Q-Tech
Q-Tech has used state of the art oscillators to develop a new series of TCXO units with low phase noise, low jitter, and tight temperature stability. They have used their expertise in crystal mount techniques to produce a TCXO with excellent shock and vibration performance and a low G-sensitivity.
Available in DIP, SMD and Gull Wing packages the TCXO units are available at any frequency between 10Mhz and 80Mhz with a choice of Sine Wave or HCMOS outputs and 3.3Vdc or 5.0Vdc supplies. Tight temperature stabilities over extended temperature ranges can be selected such as +/-3ppm over -40°C to +85°C.
Suitable for GPS timing, a high stability clock oscillator or as a frequency reference for communications this TCXO unit will be useful in mission critical applications where a rugged high reliability component is essential.
RFT2-2L-19: 2U Dual 19-inch LCD and Keyboard Tray
NLS has released the world's first dual 19-inch LCD with keyboard and tracker ball in a vertical format. The RFT2-2L-19 is the world's first dual 19-inch flat panel that fits into 2U of rackspace in a RETMA rack or transport case. When pulled out for use, the 2 LCDs open in a vertical format reducing the amount of space traditional side-by-side units require. The pitch of the displays take into account the optimum viewing angles for the operator and reduces the amount of "up-time" involved in using two seperate monitors.
The RFT2-2L-19 was originally made for the U.S. Navy but is also used by military personel to fly UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) in both a fixed rack and transport case. This unit was designed to withstand vibration in a closed and upright position so the display can be used in aircrafts, ships and vehicles. It comes with a sealed, backlit full-travel keyboard and a 1.5" backlit trackball and 3 mouse buttons.
